welcome to destiny's strata!

The town seems like any other town. Simple, quiet on the exterior but digging beyond the surface will reveal a whole new world of deception, lies, and most of all, power. This is where the rich come to raise their families. But they all have their dirty little secrets. Isolating themselves from the rest of the world is the norm here, weeding out the 'bad seeds'. The children are raised with a sense of 'being privileged' and their parents encourage this. They go to private universities where they are taught to rule the world.

But there is one little problem...

The government says they have to allow a certain number of scholarships every year to the underprivileged kids or risk the closure of their schools. On the far end of town lives the poor, the down-trodden, and the downright scum of the earth, or, at least, that is how the upper class sees them. Mana Marrow tries to hide this embarrassment in their town but now, with the government intervening, they will have to allow some of these young adults to mix with their own precious, spoiled, and pampered offspring. The town comes together to form 'The Hetaireia', a secret society for the Elite, and figures out a way to make this work in their favor, however, and soon the lucky chosen underprivileged youth begin their university studies only to find that all is not as it seems. A hierarchy is born and they find themselves at the bottom rung, treated as less than second class citizens.

Will you be one of the privileged students that seem to rule the schools?
Or will you be one of the poor, who struggle for the acceptance that they may never find?
Or maybe you will be an adult, working in the town, the schools, or at the factory that supplies jobs for little pay and hard labor?

The choice is yours, so choose wisely!

scholar rules

updated: august 18th

These are in character rules that both Ridge Creek Academy and Ravenswood Academy have in place for their scholars. This list is here so those playing scholars in either school may be fully aware of any in character limits they might face.
  1. All Scholars must enter any school building using the furthest door to the left where there will be a mandatory search of each person and their belongings.
  2. Each Scholar will only be issued one main locker as opposed to the two lockers (main and gym locker room) allowed to the Elite students. Scholars will not be issued a lock for their locker and will be subject to random searches.
  3. Scholars are expected to obey any direct or indirect order given by any and all staff members without question.
  4. Likewise, Scholars are expected to obey any direct or indirect order given by any and all Elite students as their superiors, as Elite students have the right to give said orders to the Scholars as their subordinates.
  5. There will be no free periods given to Scholars. All Scholars must report to either the janitorial department or the cafeteria when not in class for mandatory work detail as a part of their scholarship agreement to work off their tuition.
  6. As part of their contract, Scholars must also report to the Science Department no less than once per week and volunteer for research testing. As a reminder, all scholars should have signed a waiver upon acceptance to the school agreeing that the school will not be held responsible for any accidents or ill affects any research may cause.
  7. All Scholars will require a hall pass when outside of the classroom.
  8. There will be no access to any extracurricular areas, ie. the pool, tennis courts, etc. except during gym class or any mandatory events. These are for Elite students only unless otherwise stated.
  9. There will be no cell phone use (if one can be afforded) during class time. This only applies to Scholars. Computer use will be monitored and will be only accessible for class work and research. No social sites allowed!
  10. All Scholars will be expected to attend all functions and events by the schools in a work study capacity including all shared events open to both schools, ie. dances, sporting events, etc. This means you must come ready to work at the event serving, clean up, and whatever else the event may need. The only exception will be if you are attending the event with an Elite student in which you may then be allowed to share time between the event and work.
  11. As Scholars, each of you will be assigned to an Elite student. This student will be in charge of making sure you are keeping up with your duties and inform the High Master/Mistress of any problems or violations that may arise. It is your duty in return to attend to your assigned superior’s needs. You will be their attendant for the duration of your schooling here.**
  12. Any violation of the above rules will be grounds for disciplinary action. Detentions will be served in the detention room after school for a period of no less than two hours and no more than four, depending on the infraction. Any suspensions will be in school suspension. This is not a vacation and should not be treated as such. Therefore, you will be expected to come to school during your suspension and serve your time doing manual labor around the school or in the Science Lab for research testing. This will be at the discretion of the disciplinarian.

** The British term fag means to act as a servant for older boys in British private schools, or a junior pupil at a private school who works and runs errands for a senior pupil. This is a normal occurrence in the British school system. However, we here at STDS will be using the name Attendant due to the offensive meaning most people know the word fag to have. You, as writers, have the choice to use the word as long as both writers involved are okay with this. But for the site itself we will stick to attendant so as not to unnecessarily offend anyone. On a side note, while this is common in the boy’s schools, it is not common for the girls. However, here on STDS we will be making this a rule for both school’s Scholars to simplify things and to make things more fun.
